Scale model of 4-masted schooner GOVERNOR POWERS made by Captain Alberto L. Kent. Model has 4 hatches, gray hull above waterline, green below waterline. Original schooner GOVERNOR POWERS was 210' long, had a 3000 ton cargo capacity, and was built at Rockland, Maine, 1904-1905, for firm of Cobb & Butler, by Captain Kent who also designed it. At the time this was the largest vessel of its class that had ever been built. Captain Kent was Commanding Officer for a number of years. On September 11, 1918, the GOVERNOR POWERS was wrecked on Nantucket Shoals in collision with steamship SAN JOSE of Merchant and Miners Transportation Company.
