Rigged model made by Raymond E. Pendleton; sloop MEDIATOR. Scale 1/4" = 1'. Deck, hull, all wooden parts above waterline made of pearwood. Rudder & hull light brown above waterline, white below. Black trim & gunwhales; 2 anchors on each side of bow; 3 cannons on port & starboard deck; white dinghy with maroon trim & 2 sets of oars; wale-(lines); moldings-2 parallel along both sides; blocks in working condition; wooden mast, boom & mast hoops; 4 four-paned windows in stern; steering wheel; 4 doors in stern; mast, yards, boom, & jibboom of lemonwood. All standing rigging served with silk. Model attached to walnut stand. Black metal nameplate reads "MEDIATOR/ BUILT IN VIRGINIA/ 1741-1742/ PURCHASED FOR THE/ R.N. 1745/ MODEL BY/ R.E. PENDLETON".
