Cased wooden model of clipper ship PAMPERO, copper painted bottom, black topsides, varnished decks; masts and spars of whalebone. Vessel flies 16-star American flag and white pennant marked: "J. BISHOP & CO., N.Y." Mounted on varnished wooden base and in original glass case with painted sheet metal back resembling sky. Case glass cracked on top and front faces. Model listed as PAMPARO on bows and transom. PAMPERO, extreme clipper, blt. 1853 at Mystic, Conn. by Charles Mallory, 1375 tons, 202 x 38 x 21. Owned by J. Bishop & Co. of New York. Govt. transport in Civil War. Sold 1867.
