Rubber lifesaving suit from World War II; one piece black suit with yellow hood and mittens; mittens have separate thumb and index finger, are stamped "DIEGO MADRID"; boots have strap with buckle, imprinted on soles "12/ MADE IS USA"; stencilled in yellow on left chest "LIFESAVING/ MORNER/ SUIT"; printed inside suit is a notice of 4 [nearly illegible] wearing instructions; front zipper has a ball-chain fastener "WATERTIGHT SLIDE FASTENER CORP/ NY/ US PATENT NO. 1-700 097/ OTHER PAT'S PENDING". Worn by crewman aboard the USS PONTIAC when she sank Jan. 30, 1945 off Nova Scotia.
