Admiral's Cup

Races

"An international inshore/offshore race series, founded in 1957, held every other year from Cowes, Isle of Wight, England, is open to national teams with a maximum of three yachts in each team. It comprises three inshore day races (originally two) of about 30 nautical miles, the Channel Race of about 225 nautical miles and the Fastnet race of 605 nautical miles. A points system on all five races decides the winning team." (Sturrock, Jock, Classic racing yachts in Australian waters, 1979. p. 167)
