Model construction: 14 lifts, port view, natural finish, gold trailboard and stern carvings, wale and quarterboard lettering, pine and mahogany lifts, backboard painted black. Label found 8/22/75: "Original builder's model/ ship THOMAS FITCH/ believed to have been launched at Westerly/ in 1852 by Silas Greenman & Co. as the clipper/ ISLAND CITY/ for the Galveston trade, 700 tons..."
