Facsimile half model of the DAVID CROCKETT, clipper ship. Scale 1:60. Launched October 15, 1853. DAVID CROCKETT, at Mystic, Conn. by George Greenman & Co., 215' x 40' x 27', 1547 tons. Barged 1890, sunk ca. 1899. From 1857 to 1882 she carried cargoes between New York, San Francisco, and Liverpool, making 25 voyages around Cape Horn. She proved to be one of the fastest and most profitable of the American clipper ships.
