Whale tooth. Image is of girl with a jump rope with pin-dot outline visible. Image from "Harper's New Monthly Magazine," April 1854; engraved by William E. Roberts (b.1829; fl. 1846-76) after Lewis Towson Voigt [Voight] (fl. circa 1839-65). Voigt worked in Baltimore until 1845 and afterwards was a regular contributor of fashion drawings to "Godey's Lady's Book" in New York.
