Model of brig PILGRIM; scale 1:48; mounted on wood plank as if it were anchored; starboard anchor, 2 small boats, swing boom all out; green bottom, black topsides with gunports; rails, trim, and small boats are green; gold trim trailboards, figurehead is a pilgrim; transom has gold decorations, white trim, 4 windows, name in white; small deckhouse forward, quarterdeck; built by Cornelius F. Spillane. Richard Henry Dana served as crew (1834-1836) on the commericail vessel PILGRIM (blt 1825, Medford, MA) and used that experience as the basis for his 1840 novel, "Two Years before the Mast."
