Painting by Reynolds Beal of Palmer Shipyard, Noank, CT, 1906; shows whaling vessel ROSA BAKER (built 1867, Scituate, MA) undergoing repairs; signed lower right "Reynolds Beal 1906"; painted on canvas "Noank Shipyard/ Whaler Rosa Baker on ways". ROSA BAKER was a 103 ton hermaphrodite brig, 82' x 23'7" x 8'11", she was lost on a whaling voyage, soon after this painting was done.
