A reprint of one of a series (1946.95-.108) of Hyde Windlass advertisements, mounted on oak tag paper support; includes an excerpt from the "Whalemen's Shipping List', September 2, 1879, a description of the MARY AND HELEN from information provided by the 'Old Dartmouth Historical Society and Whaling Museum, New Bedford, Mass. (undated) and two sketches, one assumed to be of the whaling vessel; vessel purchased by the US Government, renamed the RODGERS and used as an Arctic relief ship in the search for the JEANNETTE, a Polar exploration ship; for names of crew of MARY AND HELEN, see 1943.37
