Coston distress outfit for lifeboats and rafts, ca. 1920; metal cylindrical case (dented) with watertight flat screw top and handle; 10 flares; stamped on case "COSTON SUPPLY CO. INC./ NEW YORK"; flares have wooden rounded handles with cylindrical end covered with red paper and foil on end; black printing gives directions and Coston trademark, plus strength of flares; whole covered with wax; on head "COSTON MARINE SIGNALS/ COSTON/ SUPPLY CO./ INC./ N. Y."
