New York Athletic Club Race to Block Island (1948)

1948-07-09 to present

From Execution Lighthouse to Block Island: approx. 106 nautical miles. Participants were sailing cruisers and motor cruisers. The motor boat division ran on the predicted log rule of the American Power Boat Association. Sloop WINDCALL owned by Gilbert Wyland of the Norwalk Yacht Club won the sail division on corrected time. Carl E. Schuster NYAC won the motor boat division with hi Huckins cruiser CARLAN.
