Sargent, 1st officer of the INDIANA, in 1875, for rescue of the AVENA(?); presented by the Shipwrecked Fishermen & Mariners Royal Benevolent Society of England; front has relief design of shipwrecks, with crown at top and society name around edges; back has "ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY/ PRESENTED/ FOR/ HEROIC EXERTIONS/ IN SAVING LIFE/ FROM DROWNING/ FOR (?) XXIX13"; engraved on edge "Mr. R. W. SARGENT 1875"; 2 stylized facing fish; blue ribbon threaded through.
