Over-garment of Manchu Dynasty (1644-1912) golden mustard color, with 6 3/4" border of embroidered green satin. On the border, among pink roses and blue leaves, appear 8 different combinations of Taoist symbols, - 2 rectangles 1" or 2" long. It is consistently the back of robe & border which are embroidered, motif a bird medallion, suggesting a garment for a priest who officiated with his back to congregation.
