Carved shell brought from Egypt by Captain George Dunn Gilderdale (master of whaling bark PERU) circa 1855-1860; upper half represents Nativity scene; dove with outspread wings above "GLORIA in EH[sic.] CELSIS"; lower half is triptych representing St. Mary ('S.S. MARY V"), Resurrection of Jesus ("RESU RESIONE"), and St. Clare ("S. ChIARA"). See also 1960.1-3.
