Glass negative by Capt. George Comer, taken at Hudson Bay, Canadian Arctic, circa 1902. Depicts an Inuit angakok [shaman] wearing an elaborate parka. The man is identified as Qingailisaq, and his costume was inspired by a vision. Photo taken onboard the whaling schooner ERA Lantern slide 1966.339.68 was made from this negative.
