Glass negative by Capt. George Comer, taken at Repulse Bay, Hudson Bay, January 24, 1902. Depicts four Inuit, photographed inside deck house onboard whaling schooner ERA. Described by Comer as "a family of Nectchellic." These people, who resided in the territory northwest of the principal American whaling grounds, are more accurately designated as the Netsilik. Information from original envelope identifies this as Photo 76, #86. Number 86 is etched into emulsion on lower part of plate.
