The artist's signature appears in the lower right corner of the image. Lower right corner, below image is printed: HEYWOOD STRASSER & VOIGT LITHO. CO. NY. IMP. Below image, in lower margin, enlarged text reads: PROVIDE THE SINEWS OF WAR / BUY LIBERTY BONDS. Small embloem of an eagle with shield and two anchors is above text. Poster has been town completely in half vertically. Donor supplies the following additional information: "This is the top half of a Navy recruiting poster of World War I. The other half showed patriotic slogans."
