Lantern slide prepared by F.C. Lockwood of Brooklyn, NY, from an original photograph by Capt. George Comer. Used by Comer to illustrate lectures about his Arctic and seafaring experiences. Depicts a group of Inuit inside the cabin of a whaling schooner in Hudson Bay. Schooner is either the ERA (bt. 1847, wrecked 1906) or A.T. GIFFORD. Photo is ca. 1897-1912.
