Black and white photograph, mounted on manilla backing, the corner of Union and Front Streets, New Bedford. The Taber Block, at the head of Taber's Wharf, housed sailmakers, chandleries, agents, counting houses and maritime trades and services; the smaller building, the "Armour Co.", served the company in their meat packing and other interests. Hitching posts and granite runners (to facilitate moving casks, including whale oil) line the street.
