Race began Thursday August 13th, 1936 off Newport, Rhode Island and ended with the last event of the King's Cup on Thursday August 20th, 1936.
Racing took place mainly between Newport RI and Mattapoisett MA, with courses and layovers also happening around/at Block Island (RI) and Edgartown (MA); this puts racing in the Block Island Sound, Nantucket Sound, Buzzards Bay, and Vinyard Sound, as well as Newport Harbor.
Thursday: started out of New London; Friday: Astor Cup and special cruising class races off Newport; Saturday:in Vinyard Sound with a weekend layover in Edgartown; Monday: start for Mattapoisett by way of Edgartown and Quicks Hole, Buzzards Bay; Tuesday: King's Cup race off Newport to Block Island and back. Squadron runs include: New London to Newport, Newprot to Edgartown, Edgartown to Mattapoissett, and Mattapoisett to Newport.
Race Committee included: Edmund Lang, Clinton Mackenzie, and Drake Sparkman.
