MISS PEPS V was built as SO-LONG, by Ventor Boat Works 1939. She was a Arno A. Apel design. She was re-named MISS PEPS V by 1947. Dan Foster was her driver, and she was the winner of the Gold Cup, the President's Cup at the National Sweepstakes, and also raced the Detroit Silver Cup race that same year. She was later renamed SHORT SNORTER.
