Visible in image are port views of VENTURA, #NY7, with stern towards camera; SPARTAN, #NY6; ACUSHLA, #NY1; and PLEIONE, #NY9; as well as the bow of a boat to the far right and two boats hidden behind SPARTAN and ACUSHLA, on starboard tacks heading for starting line under gaff-rigged mainsails and topsails, staysails and jibs, with land and other vessels in the distance.
