6x8 glass negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons July 22, 1911 at the start of the Halifax Race which began at Gravesend Bay, New York. Image of TRAMP, racing #10, underway, port beam view with splash sheets in the seating area to protect the crew and any passengers. TRAMP was a 40' screw launch built by Charles Lund of City Island, New York from designs by Bowes and Mower in 1911. She was owned in 1911 by Holland S. Duell. TRAMP was unable to finish the race and put into Block Island in Rhode Island. Handwritten neg. sleeve info.: "20-S / Tramp / Halifax Race 1911 / Box 2 / Tramp." Stamped: "PLATE NO. 20".
