5x7 safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons in 1937 during the time of the New York Yacht Club Cruise on Buzzard's Bay. Cloudless image without clouds in the background of five J Class boats undersail, starboard bow views with spinnakers set and RANGER in the foreground to the right. RANGER was a 135' Olin Stephens designed, Bath Iron Works built J class sloop built 1937 in Bath, Maine. She is leading the 127'5" W. Starling Burgess designed, Herreshoff built J class sloop RAINBOW that was built 1934 in Bristol, Rhode Island. The next vessel is the 130' Charles E. Nicholson designed, Camper & Nicholson Yard built J class cutter ENDEAVOUR built 1934 in Gosport, England. Next is the 128'5" Camper & Nicholson J class sloop ENDEAVOUR II, built 1936 in Gosport, England and last the 126' Paine, Belknap & Skene designed, George Lawley & Son Corporation built J Class sloop YANKEE, built 1930 in Neponset, Massachusetts.
