7x5 glass negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons. Port bow view of the Gloucester fishing schooner MAYFLOWER undersail, off Gloucester, Massachusetts. Vessel seen during the time of the International Fishermen's Races October 21, 1922. MAYFLOWER was designed by Starling W. Burgess and built by The James Yard in Essex, Massachusetts in 1921. She was a very fast fishing schooner and the International Fishermen's race committee disqualified her saying she was too "yachty" after she won the Gloucester Races earlier in October, 1921.
