Adams built fishing schooner ELIZABETH ANN HOWARD (built 1916 in E. Boothbay, Me.) from the deck of the 139' Thomas F. McManus designed, James Yard built Gloucester fishing schooner HENRY FORD (built in 1922 in Essex, Mass.) at the 1922 Fishermen's Race off Gloucester, Mass. Visible in image: starboard beam view of ELIZABETH ANN HOWARD on starboard close-hauled tack with gaff-rigged mainsail, foresail, staysail and jib raised, deck view of HENRY FORD, to the left is a large mast, framed by the foresail boom overhead, three crewmen are seen sitting under the boom looking out over the water from the HENRY FORD, toward the ELIZABETH ANN HOWARD, which is slightly ahead off to the port side. The HENRY FORD won the 1923 Fishermen's Race for Gloucester's 300th anniversary, against ELIZABETH HOWARD and SHAMROCK (by Edwin Perkins).
