Starling Burgess designed, Herreshoff built J class sloop RAINBOW (built 1934 in Bristol, R.I.) and 130' Charles E. Nicholson designed, Camper & Nicholson Yard built J class cutter ENDEAVOUR (built 1934 in Gosport, England) at end of 1934 America's Cup sixth race. Visible in image: cropped bow view of ENDEAVOUR (J/K4) running before the wind with mainsail to starboard and a ventilated spinnaker watching the starboard side of RAINBOW after she crossed the finish line and turned into the wind on a starboard tack under a marconi-rigged mainsail and a spinnaker (which has gone limp), unidentified schooner with marconi-rigged mainsail, gaff-rigged foresail, and jib, and five steam spectator yachts.
