Nevins built 12 meter class sloop GLEAM (built 1937 in City Island, NY), 70' Sparkman & Stephens designed, Henry B. Nevins built 12 meter class sloop VIM (built 1939 in City Island, N.Y.) and two other unidentified sloops at start of NYYC Cruise. Visible in image: starboard beam views of WINDIGO (175), GLEAM (12/US11), VIM (12/15), BOLERO (134), and two unidentified sloops on port close reach under full sails, WINDIGO flies owner Walter S. Gubelmann's private signal- white swallowtail with blue border and two links, one blue, the other red, forming a cross- on mizzenmast and BOLERO flies owner John Nicholas Brown's private signal- white swallow tail with two vertical blue stripes with star in center- on mizzenmast, land in background.
