5 x 7 Kodak safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons during the time of the Harvard-Yale Boat Race on the Thames River off New London, Connecticut on June 20, 1930. Image is a port bow view photographed from an elevated position looking toward the motor yacht JEM underway, port bow view. Vessel is seen on a crowded Thames River passing other spectator vessels and the The Thames River Lumber Company building can bee seen in background with a small freight train passing. JEM, later named, JESSICA, was a 75'6" commuter cruiser built by Consolidated Shipbuilding Corporation of Morris Heights, New York and designed by John H. Wells, Inc. in 1930 for Jeremiah Milbank.
