Depicts a port beam view of the sidewheel steamer TECUMSEH, circa 1826. Vessel flies American flag, "DEFIANCE" flag, and "TECUMSEH" flag. Information on bottom of image reads: "Built by jnu. Weeks, Fulton, Ohio. / Power -- Six double flued Boilers and / One Engine. -- Stiff shaft. / In 1828 she made the run from N-O; to Louisville / in Eight days and four hours, the best to that date. / Built A.D. 1826 / Dimensions.-- Length - 165 feet / Beam 26 / Depth of Hold 8 / Carrying Capacity 112 Tons. Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "C4 / Str. 'Tecumseh' Built 1826."
