7x5 safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons just before the start of the Bermuda Races in 1930. Image of the vessel ROSE OF SHARON undersail, starboard beam view on a mild port tack, and a lighthouse in the distance. ROSE OF SHARON was a 51'9" auxiliary schooner built in 1930 and later renamed as SAN CRISTOBAL II by 1939. Her designer was Burgess & Morgan, Ltd. and the builder was Eastern Ship Building Corporation of Shelburne, Nova Scotia. Her first owner in 1930 was Austin Lamont of North Haven, Maine and her life ring says that she is out of Pulpit Harbor. Stamped negative sleeve info.: "40379F / BERMUDA RACES 1930". Handwritten: "Rose of Sharon / Box 2844". Notation of print possibly sent by Rosenfeld and Sons to the following: "R"(Rudder), "Y"(Yachting), and "Scripps"(Scripps Motor Company).
