8x10 gelatin silver print made by Rosenfeld and Sons from a copy negative made from a book. The original photographer was Nathaniel L. Stebbins of Boston, Massachusetts. Image is of the cutter GALATEA, undersail, starboard beam view. GALATEA was a 100' British cutter built for the America's Cup 1886 challenge in 1885 by John Reid & Son Company of Glasgow, Scotland from designs by John J. Beavor-Webb. Original negative sleeve information handwritten: "Galatea, 1886." The original image was copied by the Rosenfelds from a book published in 1887 by Edward Burgess titled, AMERICAN AND ENGLISH YACHTING, plate IV. Info. from original, empty negative sleeve stamped: "158847F / [Box] 5635". Handwritten: "Pg 110 / Galatea 1886 / See Book". Information from print verso in pencil top left edge: "GALATEA 1886". Black tip pen: "158847". Stamped in blue ink lower right area: "MORRIS ROSENFELD & SONS / PHOTOGRAPHIC ILLUSTRATORS / 163 WEST 23rd ST., N.Y. 10011 / Phone: 989-2404".
