Image taken as part of long term commissioned work and documentation for the American Telephone & Telegraph Company, ranging from 1910 through the 1940s. View of immigrants at Ellis Island, NY, seen waiting in line for railroad tickets. Men, women, and children in line at the ticket counter, each have numbered and lettered tags pinned to their outer layer of clothing to assist the ticket manager in helping to sell them the correct ticket destination. A child stands by the ticket counter looking toward the camera. Sign over the wire protected ticket counter reads: "RAILROAD TICKETS TO ALL POINTS / EISENBAHN BUREAU. BIGLIETTI FERROVIARII. / JAERNBANE BILLET KONTOR, / VASUTI JEGYEK ZELESNICKI KARTI. / E.N. LITTLE'S SONS". Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "N.Y. Tel.
