Wood of the famous schooner AMERICA, the winner of the One Hundred Guinea Cup in England in 1851 which was later known all over the world as the America's Cup. The caption which was copied but is in frames #18 and #19 reads: "The AMERICA as she appeared when entered for the Royal Yacht Squadron regatta August 22, 1851. From a water-color painting by W.G. Wood. (Copyright 1902 by Thomas W. Lawson, Boston)". This image was copied at the New York Historical Society from a book titled, THE LAWSON HISTORY OF THE AMERICA'S, by Thompson and Lawson, copyright 1902. Neg. sleeve info.: none.
