5 x 7 Kodak safety negative taken by Rosenfeld and Sons in 1932. Port quarter view of MALABAR X under sail during the Newport to Bermuda Race. Deck visible, unidentified vessel in distance. Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "Malabar X / Class A winner / Winner on corrected time / box 3570". Stamped: "61168F / BERMUDA 1932". MALABAR X was built in 1930 as an auxiliary schooner. She was designed by John G. Alden, and built by Hodgdon Brothers in East Boothbay, ME. She measured 58' in length and carried a Falcon 4 cycle, 4 cylinder engine. She was registered in Boston, MA.
