This vessel was originally called VITESSA and was a 32' centerboard sloop designed by Nathanael G. Herreshoff and built by Herreshoff Manufacturing Company of Bristol, Rhode Island in 1914. She was later renamed by 1931 as ANITA and raced in the Handicap Class, 2nd Division, ca. 1931-1933 with the sail number %1. Stamped neg. sleeve info.: "61571F". Handwritten: "7/19 / %1 Anita / 2nd Div. / Box 3596". Notation of prints possibly sent by Rosenfeld and Sons to the following: "R" (RUDDER) and "Y" (YACHTING).
