5x7 safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons on May 23, 1936 at the Jakobson yard, Brooklyn, New York. Image of the owner and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Baruch, standing or seated on KIRAWAN as it is sliding down the ways into the water, starboard quarter view with many workmen assisting. In the background to the left is a very large barge and behind that a building with "ST. JOHNS / N.Y." printed on it. KIRAWAN was a 53 ft. auxiliary cutter, by Philip L. Rhodes of Cox & Stevens, Inc. and built by Jakobson & Peterson, Inc. in 1936 for Robert P. Baruch of New York. Stamped neg. sleeve info.: "74840F / MAY 23 1936 / [Box] 4248".
