View of the motor yacht VALFREYA, dressed and underway, port bow view, believed taken on the Hudson River, New York, as a spectator during the time of the Colonial Yacht Club Race of 1911 or 1912. VALFREYA was a 40' raised deck, trunk cabin, screw launch, designed by Henry John Gielow, and built by Milton Boat Works in 1910 at Rye, New York. She was owned in 1911 by Professor Joseph Rohrer. Information written on the original negative sleeve: "#99 / [Box] #9 / Colonial Y.C. R. / M.B. Valfreya / Box 13 (crossed out)" and stamped: "PLATE NO." and written in and crossed out: "157".
