Gelatin silver print taken by Rosenfeld and Sons on July 17, 1920. Port quarter view of the cutter RESOLUTE undersail. RESOLUTE was the last Herreshoff designed America's Cup defender. She was modified to sail under J Boat rules, but she was not technically a J Boat. Her helmsman was Charles Francis Adams. In 1928 she was re-rigged as a Marconi sloop. She sailed until 1939. She was designed and built by Herreshoff in Bristol, RI 1914. Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "2nd Race Resolute". Note: RESOLUTE lost this America's Cup race, as well as the first race.
