In the distance off to the right is the New London Ledge Lighthouse. HI-ESMARO was a 266'6" motor yacht built by the Bath Iron Works of Bath, Maine in 1929 from designs by Henry J. Gielow, Inc. She was owned by H. Edward Manville from 1929 until sold in 1940 to the US Navy, renamed as NIAGARA and used as a motor torpedo boat tender during World War II until being bombed by the Japanese.
