10x8 glass negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons between 1912 and 1914 commissioned by the New York Telephone Company of New York for advertising the easy use of the telephone. Image of a young woman, dressed in a blouse and long, dark skirt with buckle shoes, seated in a rocking chair in front of a writing desk most likely reading (see negative #1984.187.531) a hardbound copy of, THE HERITAGE OF THE DESERT, by Zane Grey, published in 1910. On the small writing desk is a telephone, a bust of a Greek statue, a small statue of a cat and a large, possibly dried crab and a book. To the right of the lady is a wooden door and to the left a plant stand with a fern in a vase also seen in negative #1984.187.437. Handwritten neg. sleeve info.: "533 / Box 44-3."
