6x8 glass negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons during the time of the Huntington Yacht Club Regatta in 1912. Image of LLAO underway, port bow view. LLAO began as a runabout racer named NAMELESS built as a potential defender for the Harmsworth Trophy race in 1911. She was built as a 39'6" speedboat by the Atkin-Wheeler Company of Huntington Harbor in Long Island, New York and was equipped with 4 - 8 cylinder Herreshoff motors. She sunk after hitting a log during the Harmsworth and was rebuilt as a yacht tender by her original builder Atkin-Wheeler Company with a hardtop glass cabin over the large cockpit area amidships and refitted with an Atkin-Wheeler gas engine. She was renamed as LLAO (which means Sea Devil) in 1912 and one of the original owners, August Heckscher kept her until 1913.
