6x8 glass plate negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons at the Larchmont Yacht Club races in 1911 of CARLITA, NY30' Class, #8 and TAURUS, Star Class, #1, undersail, racing, starboard bow view on a port tack. CARLITA, NY 30' Class sloop, 43'6", and was built in 1905. She later became CAROLITA, DELIGHT(?), CAROLITA, and MERMAID by 1927. She was designed and built by Herreshoff of Bristol, Rhode Island. TAURUS, 22' 8 1/2" sloop, Star Class, sail #1, was designed by Francis Sweisguth and built by Isaac Smith of Port Washington, New York in 1911 and raced until 1923. She is not listed in the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association Archives after 1923. However, note that the sail number #1 was transferred to LITTLE DIPPER, original sail #17, and LITTLE DIPPER now was known to have the sail #1 starting in 1924.
