Whale blubber gaff from the Gates' "Jibboom Club" of New London, CT. Rought wooden pole, bark removed, with checks. Hand-wrought iron gaff, "L" shaped, with one nail and one screw attached to pole on one end. Nail bent through and around pole. 105-1/2" long overall. Pole diameter 2"; Iron piece is 10-1/2" long; 5" at hook, with 3/4" hooks.
