Soft negative by F. Slade Dale of the four-masted coastal schooner HERBERT L. RAWDING. Taken while vessel was en route with freight, from Miami, FL to New Bedford, MA on the week of April 27, 1926. The photographer was hitching a ride home from a voyage south he had taken aboard a twelve-foot sneakbox. View of a black crewman standing on the deck with a basket of food in his left hand and a coffee pot in his right. Man is dressed in white and is wearing corrective glasses and a hat. The vessels is under full sail and clothing and sheets are seen hung on a line over the port side of the vessel. See prints 2001.69.103 and 2001.69.104.
