5x7 glass negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons on September 23, 1916. Image is a starboard view of the lightship, AMBROSE, anchored at her station on Long Island Sound. The AMBROSE lightship, #LV 87, served at the Ambrose station from her commissioning in 1907 through 1932. She then served at a variety of stations until she was decommissioned in 1962. Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "233 / 9/23/16 / Tamaqua YC / Box 27 / Ambrose". Written on back of sleeve: "A-Phillips / 52 William St". CREDIT LINE: Mystic Seaport, Rosenfeld Collection.
