Buoy marker; wooden cask (a) painted black; steel hoops; 14 " diam. head by 19" long. Pole (b) through bunghole of barrel and opposite side, which has 2 wooden stoppers to prevent slipping through hole. Bottom end has metal bracket with swivel, seized loop for attaching long line. Top of pole has 2 leather straps to hold marker pole (c) with circular canvas flag, which is painted black with a white diamond in center. Some ropework on pole. Purchased for display aboard the L. A. DUNTON.
