8 x 10 Kodak safety negative taken by Rosenfeld and Sons on July 15, 1936. Posed view of a midget racing car and driver (#5). Seen in a paved stadium in New Jersey, possibly the Long Branch Speedway or the Olympic Park Stadium in Newark. (Rosenfeld identifies area as the Garden Bowl, but research is inconclusive. According to Fred Hahn's web research at newjerseydirtracing.com, Long Branch Speedway had a 1/5 mile paved oval that was formerly a dog track, but the corresponding race date is 6/25/37. Mr. Hahn also states Olympic Park Stadium, in Newark, NJ, raced the first east coast midget race in 6/10/34 on a paved track, but does not list this later race date. Further research welcomed). Typed on original negative sleeve: "51246 / 7/15/36 / Oluf Mikkelsen-393- 4th Ave, City / Mr. Geo Mikkelsen / Midget auto racers at Garden Bowl".
